The story of Davis Cookie Collection
It begin with our 2013 founding date. It started in 1950, when my family moved to Cincinnati from Georgia and opened their own restaurant & club in downtown Cincinnati called Club Safari. Club Safari was a huge staple for the community. They offered southern style meals and live entertainment from artists you’ll recognize; Little Richard, BB King, Aretha Franklin, and so many more. My grandfather Cornelius and his brother John were well known musicians here in Cincinnati and would also perform inside the club. My grandfather played the saxophone & organ and his brother played the drums.
Even though this era was before my time, hearing these amazing stories about my grandfather's legacy over the years inspired me to become an entrepreneur myself. Seeing that my family was successful and enjoyed owning their own business instilled that same confidence and spirit in me.
In 2013, I began baking as an outlet for stress relief during graduate school. It turned out that my friends loved my baking and would frequently ask for more. After my baking turned into more than a hobby, I rented a location in Findlay Market. After much more success, I went on to open my own brick and mortar store here in Bond Hill!
The foundation of my family has always been southern home cooking. I learned at an early age how to cook and bake everything from scratch the southern way! We currently use southern inspired ingredients, spices, and processes when making our cookies. This is what makes them so unique! We currently provide over 100 different types of cookies and desserts!
My husband is a cornerstone of our team at Davis Cookie Collection as the Chief Operating Officer. He oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the business. He also helps out with baking when we need him! We make a wonderful team!
